The Jonas Brothers announced the release of their first record in almost 10 years, Happiness Begins, on April 22, 2019. It was released on June 7, 2019 and is the band’s fifth studio album. The release was preceded by their comeback single, “Sucker,” and later “Cool” and “Only Human”. The album debuted atop the US Billboard 200.

The album differentiates itself from the band’s past records with its new sound and style. It includes upbeat jams, love letters, and new genres for the band, including reggae and ‘80s new wave.

The Jonas Brothers Happiness Begins Tour began on August 7, 2019, when the band announced shows across North America and Europe.

I went to the Jonas Brothers concert in Birmingham, AL in the Legacy Arena at the BJCC on Wednesday, November 13, 2019. The concert openers were Jordan McGraw and Bebe Rexha. McGraw is a singer and guitarist who has had a love for music since the age of 15. He is the also son of the popular American television personality and psychologist, Dr. Phil. Rexha is a singer, songwriter, and record producer that has written for Nick Jonas and Selena Gomez. She is credited for writing Eminem and Rihanna’s single, “The Monster”.

The Jonas Brothers performed fan favorites, like “S.O.S,” “Burnin’ Up,” and “Year 3000”. They also performed Nick Jonas’ “Jealous” and DNCE’s “Cake by the Ocean” alongside a majority of the songs on their new album. The concert was filled with energy and nostalgia as both new and longtime fans celebrated the brothers’ highly anticipated return to the music scene again as a band.
